My Tanning Routine

I am so excited about today's post because it is the one thing that I get asked about the most. How do I go about my tanning routine, what do I use, and all of that stuff! So this post is ALL about that! I am going to tell y'all exactly what I use and the best ways to apply it.

What I Use:

If you regularly watch my Instagram stories than you know that I talk about the Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer and how much I love it on a daily basis. I used this back in high school right before prom to give me some color, but I had not used it since high school and I really wasn't sure how I felt about it. So about a month ago I was at Target and I decided to grab another bottle. I am soooo glad that something made me buy this product again (probably due to the fact that I was extremely pale). My favorite thing about the Jergens Daily Glow is that I can get a tan in a week from nothing and then keep up with it easily.

How I Apply It:

If you're anything like me then you're clueless when it comes to applying self-tanners, or the whole idea of applying it just seems like too much. I don't know about y'all but I do not have the time to apply it and then sit around waiting for it to dry to then go shower it off. The best part about the Jergen's Daily Glow is that none of that is necessary.

The first time I use this and then about once a month after I do a deep exfoliating routine in the shower. So I take a body brush and a body exfoliate and go to town to get rid of those dry spots so that the tan won't look streaky in some areas. I also shave while I am doing all of this just to cover all my bases and to have a smooth foundation for the tan. You do not need to do this every single time, just the first time and about once a month or as needed after the first time.

Then once I am out of the shower I dry off completely and grab my tanning lotion. I take a generous amount into my hands and start rubbing it into my legs. You will apply this just as you would apply any lotion to your body. The only difference is that you're going to want to rub it in until it is basically dry. If you don't rub it in until it is just about dry then it is going to look orange in some spots. I put it on my whole body making sure to rub it all in so that everything looks even and then I go to sleep once it's all dry. I do this same routine every night for the first week and then the following weeks, I do it every other night.

The best part about this tanner is that it will not transfer onto anything. I sleep on white sheets every night and I haven't seen it transfer onto my sheets at all. If it is your first time using the lotion you probably will not notice the color develop until the 2nd or 3rd day of use, but don't worry that's completely normal! The first time you use this it will take about a week for the color to develop fully! So that is an important fact to remember if you are trying to develop a tan before an event.

After you have been using the tanning lotion for about a week you can start to do it every other day rather than every day! Below I am leaving my do's and don't's for this tanner, there are not many don't's because it's pretty much foolproof!

Quickly though I just wanted to mention that I have only used the face tanner version of this one time for a week and my face broke out! I don't know if it was because of this or something else I was using, but I will be trying it again soon! So because of this instead of going out and buying a whole new foundation I just make sure to really use my bronzer to match my face to the rest of me!

Do's:

1. Make sure that you rub the lotion in until it's dry for the best even results!
2. Do make sure that you use it daily for the best results and to keep your tan!
3. Do make sure to really rub it into your feet so that your feet don't look crazy!
4. For best results use the product at night and sleep on it to wake up to a more developed color!
5. You can shave while you have the tanner on, it shouldn't take off too much color. If it does just make sure to apply the tanner again afterwards to get that color back!

Don't's:

1. Don't get dressed until the lotion is completely dry!
2. Don't pick up the firming one, that one doesn't give as much color as the regular one.
3. Don't use this on wet skin, it will not work!
4. I would not recommend using this product more than once a day since it is easy to look orange if the product is used incorrectly!

I hope that this post helped you guys out so that you can get your tan on! I love this product and this post is in no way sponsored, I just love it that much! I'll see y'all on Friday with a fun way to spice up a romper!

Much love,
Zoe Taylor
