My Summer Skincare Routine - Summer 2019

It has been a hottttt minute since I have shared my skincare routine with you guys and a lot has changed! I am the type of person that changes my skincare often because my skin gets used to one product and then it stops being as effective as it once was. I also LOVEEE to try new products, which is why you see me trying new things on my Instagram often! My skincare routine in the summer is a little different than it is is in the winter so let's get into it.

Before we start I wanted to let you guys know that I am currently testing out a new skincare line called June Jacobs Spa. It is more of a luxury line, but I do have to say that I am very impressed. Everything is made with all natural ingredients. The products I am loving right now are the following: Anti-Aging Blemish Control Cleanser, Green Tea and Cucumber Toner, and the Papaya Purifying Enzyme Masque (my personal favorite of all of them). But, since those are more expensive and I have not tried them long enough to review them yet so I am sharing the routine I was doing before for months!

If you are interested in purchasing any of the products I talk about in this post just click on any word that is in gold and it will take you right to it!

1. Makeup Removal

If I am wearing makeup it is super important to me to get it all of before beginning to cleanse my skin. I feel like if I don't remove my makeup before using my cleanser the cleanser can't get deep enough to do what it needs to do! So I have been reaching for the Pond's Cold Cream and I have been loving it. I am on my second jar of it right now and for just under $5 you can't go wrong. I use this in the shower before my cleasner to get all of my makeup off, you will need to use a cleasner after this product or your skin will feel greasy! So I just scoop a small amount of this into my hands and rub it in between my fingers until it feels almost like an oil and then I will rub it all over my face till I really feel like my makeup is off. I do take off my eye makeup with this as well because it is very gentle, it is also AMAZING at getting off mascara. This to me works better and easier than micellar water because I can do it in the shower while I am already there washing my face. If you prefer micellar water, I reccomend THIS one!

2. Cleanser

Once my makeup is off its time for  my favorite part of my whole routine, and that is the cleasner. I started trying the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Exfoliating Cleanser because one of my friends was raving about it. I've been using it for the last few months and seriously love it. I typically don't break out unless it's that time of the month and then I will get a hormonal break out. This stuff stops even my hormonal breakouts. I make sure to consistently use it the week before and during when mother nature hits and it really keeps my skin clear. It has hylauronic acid in it but is still gentle on your skin, which I really like. It's a gentle exfoliator so it is definitley something that you can use every day!

If you want something a little more luxurious but still a good price I highly reccomend the Checks and Balances Cleanser by Origins. It goes on so smooth and leaves your skin feeling even smoother. It has a minty scent and it leaves your skin feeling tingly. I used this stuff for months a few summers ago and absolutley adored it. It will cost ya $23.50 which is a little much for a face wash but it will last you a few months! This is a great thing to pick up when the 20% off everything in Ulta comes around or when the Sephora sale happens, it'll help you to save a few bucks!

3. Toner

This step is a crucial one, if you aren't implementing a toner into your current skincare routine yet, you need to be! A toner is essential if you have semi-oily, to oily skin, are acne prone, wear makeup, or wear sunscreen. It helps to get all of that out of your pores and will leave your skin feeling refreshed. Sea Breeze is the toner that I have used for years, think of it as an amped up better witch hazel. I take a good amount of this and put it onto a cotton pad after I cleanse my skin and rub it all over my face. I will usually repeat this step 2-3 times, you want to repeat it until the cotton pad is clean and white, meaning that you got everything off of your skin!

I will give a warning on sea breeze though, if you have sensitive skin make sure that you grab the sensitive formula, it's the blue one and the one I use. It may sting a little bit the first or second time that you use it, don't be alarmed that's normal and typically happens if you have some open blemishes! That will stop after about the third use. I swear by this stuff, if I have a pimple I will make sure to use my Sea Breeze the next two days and it will be gone. Y'all it's amazing, I have friends who use this every single day because it's the only thing that will clear their skin it's seriously that good. I use this every night after I wash my face and before I moisturize.

4. Moisturizer

If you follow me on Instagram and watch my Instagram stories than you probably already know what I am about to say. The Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Cloud Cream is the best moisturizer I have ever come by. This stuff smooths  out every bump and ridge on your face, I have no idea how it does it but it does. I have little bumps that really can't be seen up by my forehead and this stuff smooths them out. It is extremely hydrating and I love that about it the most, I have oily skin and it still works great for me. I use this stuff morning and night every day and it is light enough to wear under makeup too! It is a pricer item coming in at $52, but it will last you a few months because you don't need a lot at all, a little bit goes a long way.

And there you have it ladies, my whole skincare routine not too complicated and also pretty affordable! If I love the June Jacobs line enough I will be back to do a whole blog post on that too. I am a week into using their products and I am in love so you can most likely expect to see a post on that!
